The bridge here carries the road across the Cut towards Dean Bank. To the south is another bridge, a footbridge which was renewed in the early 1990's. This allows access to Dean Bank from Darlington Road. It was a grey steel structure which was long past it's sell by date, being replaced with a more modern and pleasing version.
