Ferryhill Virtual Tour - A Pictorial Guide

Lower Dean Bank

Dean Bank School was finished in 1907 after the influx of Miners families had made the Ferryhill Schools capacity inadequate and so it was designed to meet the educational needs of 1400 children. The school educated the boys and girls in seperate classes.

The bottom end of Dean Bank, the 'Dean Bank Corridor', has been extensively renovated recently, with new pavements, railings, street furniture and lighting, along with changes to the corners at the end of Siemens Terrace and the road beside theChapel. It is a vast improvement on the old layout, with modern sculptures and lighting giving the place a much brighter look.
