Duncombe bank is the steep bank at the south of Cleves Avenue which joins the Station Bank at the bottom end of the Broom. It can be quite a difficult climb in winter when there is snow on the ground, the bank is about a 1 in 3 gradient at it's steepest.
In the background of the photograph is the quarry.
Rudds Hill is the southern outcrop of the limestone escarpment to the west of the Ferryhill Gap. Superb views are available to the south. The housing estate was built in the late 60's/early 70's.
