The Track to Ferryhill Carrs drops down a steep and densely wooded path through the trees on the West side of Ferryhill Gap.
At the far North East corner of Ferryhill, the junction takes the traveller toward the steep bank down to East Howle to the North and along the west edge of the Ferryhill Gap to the south. The main North-South railway runs here, taking trains from Edinburgh to London.
