Looking North along the road from Cleves Cross. The road follows the ridge to the west of Ferryhill cut and evetually descends East Howle Bank just past the junction with Wood Lane.
Cleves Cross is a high point on the road running North from Ferryhill Station up Duncombe Bank. Extensive vistas to the east are of the Ferryhill Gap, opening to the North and South, and the Thrislington Quarry.
