Ferryhill Virtual Tour - A Pictorial Guide

The Broom

The Broom. At the junction here a road runs west to the main A167 (Dean Road). To the south east is the road to Ferryhill Station. This road was laid in 1857, and previously the road to the Station was to the south along Gordon Terrace, following the course of an old Roman Road which originally joined York to Durham. This is probably the most historic road in Ferryhill, having been in use for some 2000 years.

This track at the bottom of Gordon Terrace leads to Little Chilton Farm.
