Ferryhill Virtual Tour - A Pictorial Guide

The Town Hall 1905

This picture of the Town Hall shows the garden area in front. This was the original location of St. Luke's Church, which was built on this spot in 1829. When Ferryhill seperated from Merrington and became a parish in it's own right in 1843, the church was demolished and rebuilt in it's present location in Church Lane. This bulding was completed in 1853 and some of the stone from the original church was used.
